Some quick, exciting news this evening! Because of my commitment to the environment and to fighting against climate change, a leading climate activist organizations, JanePAC let us know that they are endorsing this campaign in the West Orange Town Council Race!
JanePAC was organized to support candidates for public office at every level of government who are committed to fight climate change and its causes so that we may transition away from fossil fuels. I have already started those efforts in West Orange. In the Sustainability Committee, which I Chair, we created an inventory of every vehicle our Township owns so that we may plan for phase in of alternative fuel vehicles. Second we started tracking Township municipal buildings' energy usage so that we could understand the amounts and sources of the energy we use. When I am elected, I will continue that work and we will create an energy plan for the municipal government to plan transition to renewable energy resources. They make sense financially as payback on investment is known to be as short as 5 years, and make sense environmentally as we all have a role to play to support our state's goal of 100% renewable energy by 2035.
